Fit Guide

Finding the perfect fit when shopping for online vintage apparel can be challenging. At Y. Vestis, each item listed has approximate measurements and fabric details.

Measurement Guide:Y. Vestis Measurements

  • Bust/Waist/Hip: Garments are measured in inches laying flat, and doubled.
  • Sleeve: Seam at the shoulder seam (bone) to the hem at the wrist.
  • Length: Inner neckline point at the shoulder seam straight down to the hem.
  • Shoulder: Measurement is shoulder seam to shoulder seam. Note,  shoulder pads will be indicated in the garment description.
  • Rise: Waistline to the crotch seam.
  • Inseam: Crotch inner seam to the hem.

We recommend that you measure yourself with a flexible and inelastic tape measure. When measuring your bust, please wear your favorite and most-used bra. While measuring yourself, please take into consideration wearing ease.

Wearing ease is the beautiful thing that allows you to sit, eat, and most importantly breathe in your clothing. As an alternative, grab a comparable garment from your wardrobe and measure away!
